O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by C.V.Karthikeyan, J.) The Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the petitioner complaining that his daughter 24 years had been missing on and from 01.09.2025. The petitioner has an elder son, who is working in abroad. The petitioner had alleged that he suspected that his daughter would have gone away with the third respondent. The respondents have however, produced the detenue before us. She had stated that there was an attempt to forcibly marry her off to a person and she did not want to get married at this stage. She had stated that she is working as a Cook in a Convent in Trichy and that she would live independently. She further raised apprehensions about going back to her parents.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor also forwarded a statement given by her to the Sub-Inspector of Police, Cholapuram, wherein she had stated the very same fact that her parents were making arrangement to marry her off, which plan she had protested. We also informed the learned counsel for the petitioner about the stand taken by the detenue.

3. In view of the fact that she is very firm in her views and since, she is aged 24 years and capable of looking after herself, we would close the Habeas Corpus Petition.
