The petitioner states that his father, Sembulingam Nadar purchased an agricultural land of an extent of 4 acres 30 cents from one Nambi Narayana Konar under document No.1778 of 1991 dated 09.12.1991. Pursuant to a Notification under Section 4(1) of the Land Acquisition Act 1894 dated 06.12.1991, the said land was acquired. After submitting a representation dated 13.08.2025 seeking compensation in respect thereof, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He points out that the petitioner's father purchased the land about three days after the notification and therefore, the amount was deposited in the Sub Court, Nanguneri.
3. The petitioner has placed on record the sale deed dated 2/4
09.12.1991 under which his father purchased the property. The communication dated 29.08.2023 to the petitioner indicates that the compensation was deposited in the Sub Court on 18.08.1993. In these circumstances, the petitioner is entitled to the consideration of his representation seeking compensation.
4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner's request for compensation and dispose of the same on merits within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
