This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the contemnor/respondent for his willful disobedience of the order dated 28.06.2023, passed by this Court in Crl.O.P. (MD) No.11692 of 2023. Page No. 1 of 3

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the respondent, submitted that the summons had been issued to the Sub Registrar, Lalgudi, on 07.01.2025, for the production of documents containing the thumb impression of the accused for the purpose of comparison. Therefore, the process may take a long time.

3. In view of the above, this Contempt Petition is closed with a direction to the respondent to complete the process of investigation and file the final report within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of the expert opinion.
