PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to classified petitioner land and to issue a patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property measuring to the extent of 3 acre comprised in Survey No.2464/2, at Thenkarai Bit-II Village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District, based on petitioner's representation dated 30.05.2025 and 10.09.2025 within a time stipulation as fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The petitioner asserts that he and his wife have been in occupation of 3 acres in S.No.2464/2 at Thenkarai-II Village for the past 50 years. It is further stated that the petitioner has planted jackfruit trees, mango trees and other valuable trees on such land. After submitting several representations seeking reclassification and issuance of patta in relation thereto, the present writ petition has been filed.
2.Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He has placed on record an extract from the "A" Register disclosing the classification as Parai. He also points out that the extent is more than 3 acres and that a request for patta in respect of such a large extent would not be considered. Without prejudice, he states that the District Collector is the competent authority and would consider and dispose of the request on merits. 3.In view of the above submissions of learned Additional Government Pleader, without making any observations on the merits, this writ petition is 2/4
disposed of by directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 30.05.2025 and 10.09.2025 within 4 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
