O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Selection Grade Conductor of the respondent Transport Corporation, who applied for voluntary retirement on 31.03.2023, seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest due to the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. The petitioner had voluntary retired from service on 31.03.2023 and his terminal benefits were released on 30.10.2024. Seeking interest for belated disbursement of terminal benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation on 06.11.2024 and the same has also been received by the authorities. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/4

Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
