O R D E R

The petition for a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to provide police protection for the construction of a compound wall in the petitioner's lands situated in Survey Nos.692/3 and 692/4 at Chettikulam Village, Tirunelveli, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2025 2.It the case of the petitioner that the survey was conducted and the petitioner's land has been demarcated. However, the third respondent is preventing the petitioner from constructing the compound wall. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, would submit that an inquiry was conducted and closed, as there is a dispute between the petitioner and the third respondent with regard to the boundaries of their respective lands. 2/4

4.This Court is of the view that the respondent police have rightly rejected the request made by the petitioner, as the respondent police cannot interfere in such disputes. Consequently, this Court cannot issue a writ of mandamus. as prayed. It is needless to say that the appropriate remedy for the petitioner would be to approach the Civil Court. 5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
