O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the Marriage Registration Certificate in Marriage SL No.153/2019 on the file of 1st respondent. 2.Heard Mr.S.Mahesh Babu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.J.Barathan, learned counsel for respondent No.3.

3. It is the case of the writ petitioner that she never consented to marry the 3rd respondent. She was of the opinion that the 3rd respondent taken her to the office of Sub Registrar only to sign as a witness and therefore, she signed in some papers and book as shown by the 3rd respondent. Later, she came to know about the fraudulent activities of the 3rd respondent. Hence, this writ petition has been filed to quash the marriage certificate.

4.Though strictly speaking, this writ petition cannot be maintained, both the petitioner and the 3rd respondent appeared before this Court and the 3rd respondent admitted that the marriage certificate has to be quashed. 2/4

5.In this regard, a joint memo also filed on the side of the petitioner and the 3rd respondent. Both parties have appeared before this Court and they were identified by their respective counsels. 6.In view of the same, this writ petition stands allowed by quashing the Marriage Registration Certificate in Marriage SL No.153/2019, on the file of 1st respondent. The joint memo, dated 28.08.2024 shall form part and parcel of the record. There shall be no order as to costs. 28.08.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No PNM To
