ORDER

The petitioners seek for quashing of the FIR in Crime No. 189 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent for the alleged offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 506 (i) IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act, 2002.

2. The allegation in the F.I.R is that on account of prior dispute, the petitioners had attacked the defacto complainant with hands, abused her in filthy language and thus committed the offence.

3. The petitioners and the second respondent have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo and the affidavit of the second respondent dated 18th September 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

3. The petitioners and the second respondent (Aadhaar No.7970 4870 1720) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.R.Jeyasudha, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Uthamapalayam Police Station, Theni District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the investigation was completed and the charge sheet filed and the same was taken on file as C.C.No.493 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam, on the very same allegations and the offences.

5. Considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR and the subsequent final report pending. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.189 of 2024 and the subsequent final report in C.C.No.493 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
