This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant special grade with effect from 21.10.2013, by revising the selection grade as Rs.4,800-10,000+1,650 and to compute the further increments and Special Grade Pay in proportion to the revised pay scale in accordance with law.

2. The petitioner had earlier given a representation on 16.03.2021 to the first respondent seeking for the aforementioned relief. Since the same has not been considered, he has filed this writ petition.

3. A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents 3 & 4. The respondents 1 & 2 are yet to file counter affidavit.

4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Since the earlier representation was only given to the first respondent, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the second respondent seeking for the grant of special grade with effect from 21.10.2013, by revising the selection grade as Rs.4,800-10,000+1,650 and to compute the further increments and Special Grade Pay in proportion to the revised pay scale in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said

representation within the stipulated period, the second respondent shall consider the same and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 20.11.2025 NCC :
