O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay compensation for the acquisition of portions of land bearing Survey Nos.855/4, 854/10 and 856/2A, situated at Valvatchakostam Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District, by considering the petitioner's representations dated 15.07.2022 and 09.08.2022 and the documents annexed therewith.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the petitioner's land was acquired, the entire compensation has not been paid to her and she has been made to run from pillar to post to receive the same. The petitioner submitted representations dated 15.07.2022 and 09.08.2022. However, no compensation has been paid. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representations would be Page No. 2 of 5

considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twenty weeks.

4. Recording the said submission and considering that the petitioner is more than 80 years old, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 15.07.2022 and 09.08.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to state that before passing such orders, the petitioner and other interested parties, if any, shall be given an opportunity of being heard. No costs.
