ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to mutate the patta in Survey No.20/4A to an extent of 1 acre and 12 cents situated at Poovarnam Village, Pattukkottai Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2022 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.The land in Survey No.20/4A situated at Poovarnmam Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District was allotted to the petitioner under the Tamil Nadu Reforms Act, 1961 in the year 2002. The petitioner was in possession and enjoyment of the same and cultivating paddy in the said land. Whileso, the petitioner in order to mutate the patta in his name for the subject property, approached the third respondent in the year 2020. The third respondent did not take any action in this regard. Hence, the petitioner sent a detailed representation dated 30.06.2022. Even thereafter, no action was taken. Hence, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. 2/4

3.It is represented that in pursuant to the representation of the petitioner dated 30.06.2022, the third respondent had called the petitioner for enquiry and the petitioner also appeared for enquiry and produced necessary documents. Thereafter no action has been taken. Under such circumstances, I am inclined to issue a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2022 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
