ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.180 of 2024 dated 30.07.2024 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 324(2), and 351(3) of BNS, 2023.
2. The allegation in the FIR is that, on account of prior enmity, the petitioner, along with others, caused hurt to the de-facto complainant, abused him in filthy language, and also committed the offence of criminal intimidation.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the de-facto complainant does not wish to pursue the case any further, and the parties have now arrived at a compromise and have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 12.11.2025.
4. The petitioner, namely Ajithkumar (Aadhaar No.4567 6763 1194), and the 2nd respondent, namely R.Ramkumar (Aadhaar No.3351 5116 2095), are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.M.Narayana Samy, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Rameshwaram Town Police Station, Ramanathapuram District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at 2/4
between them, and the de-facto complainant stated that the FIR may be quashed in its entirety, though the other accused are not before this Court.

Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioner, and the fact that the de-facto complainant himself does not wish to pursue the case, and also in view of the compromise arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.180 of 2024 dated 30.07.2024 is quashed in its entirety and this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. The joint compromise memo dated 12.11.2025 shall form part of this order.
