ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner and his family members.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the brother of the petitioner is involved in a case in Crime No.22 of 2024 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 417, 376 and 506(i) of IPC. The offence committed by him is serious one. Since the brother of the petitioner was not in his house the respondent police had gone to the house of the petitioner in search of his brother which cannot be termed as harassment.

3. Considering the fact that the respondent police had gone in search pursuant to the registration of the case in Crime No.22 of 2024 and the fact that the petitioner is none other than the brother of the accused and in search of accused to know his whereabouts and the place of visit of the accused police are enquiring and visiting the place, which cannot be termed as harassment.

4. In view of the same, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
