ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the impugned charge sheet in C.C.No.796 of 2023 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, which was filed for the offences under Sections 387 and 506(2) of IPC.

2.The allegation against the petitioner is that he compelled the defacto complainant to register the property in his name and also threatened him with dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders and well-wishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned charge sheet may be quashed.

5.The petitioner, namely, Karthi @ Karthikeyan (Aadhaar No.6928 5217 8521) and the second respondent, namely, Sivakumar (Aadhaar No. 6812 8979 0090) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.Kulanthai Velu, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Nachiyarkoil Police Station, Thanjavur District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6.Considering the nature of the offences and the fact that the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned charge sheet pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned charge sheet in C.C.No.796 of 2023, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
