ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 to grant permission and to conduct the Reckla Race or Double Bullock Cart Race involving bovine bulls to the held on 01.12.2024 at Kidaripatty to Alagar Kovil Road, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, on the strength of the petitioners representation dated 19.11.2024 within time stipulated by this Court.

2. The petitioner/agriculturalist residing in Kidaripatti had sent a representation on 19.11.2024 complaining about one Ilangovan and one Tamilvannan, father and son claiming to be political functionary who wanted to conduct Reklaw Race without police permission on 2/7

01.12.2024 for which they demanded from the petitioner to give contribution. When the petitioner refused, he was threatened. Thereafter, again on 17.11.2024, they demanded contribution and again he refused. Thereafter, the said persons abused the petitioner calling his caste name and threatened him. Hence, he had sent a complaint, but no action has been taken.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the petitioner's complaint CSR No. 402 of 2024 assigned on 26.11.2024 and the CSR is pending. He further submitted that no permission was granted for conduct of Reklaw Race to Ilangovan or Tamilvannan or any other persons of Kidaripatti to conduct race on 01.12.2024 between Kidaripatti and Alagarkoil road and no application received.

4. In view of the same, the complaint of the petitioner is very imaginary and in any event, CSR has been assigned and enquiry is in progress. He further submitted that enquiry would be conducted and both the parties would be summoned and enquired. 3/7

5. In view of the same, the respondent police is directed to conduct enquiry and take necessary action if required or else close the complaint within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
