ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Special Court under TNPID Act Cases, Madurai, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.1 of 2020 within the time frame stipulated by this Court. 1/4

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the delay in the trial is violating the petitioner's rights under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that totally eight witnesses have been cited; that so far three witnesses have already been examined; and that the prosecution would produce all the witnesses as and when summoned by the learned Special Judge.

4. A direction cannot be issued to complete the trial within a time frame. However, considering the fact that the case is pending from 2020, the Special Judge, Special Court under TNPID Act Cases, Madurai, may dispose the case in C.C.No.1 of 2020 as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
