The petitioner seeks to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.99 of 2010 on the file of the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Sivagiri, alleging offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.
3. We find that the complaint has been duly registered and the petitioner has to make out his defence at the time of trial. This Criminal Original Petition shall stand dismissed. However, there shall be a direction to the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Sivagiri to dispose of the case in C.C.No.99 of 2010 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
