ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a Government Servant seeking a Mandamus to sanction and disburse the medical claim towards the expenses incurred by him due to the hospitalisation of his wife.

2. The petitioner has incurred a sum of Rs.4,21,539/-. Out of the said amount, the Insurance Company has released only a sum of Rs.1,40,400/-. Seeking the disbursement of the balance amount, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. In view of the Government orders, whenever the claim of the insured person is not satisifed in full, the insured person has to approach the District Level Empowerment Committee. Accordingly, the petitioner has also approached the District Level Empowerment Committee on 23.11.2023. 2/5

4. In view of the above said facts, the District Level Empowerment Committee of Kanyakumari District is hereby directed to consider the request of the petitioner in the light of the applicable Government orders and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
