Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned notification dated 22.11.2024 on the file of the respondent No.2 and quash the same as illegal and consequently to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 23.11.2024 within the time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the second respondent dated 22.11.2024 thereby rejected the nomination submitted by the petitioner to contest for the post of District Secretary of Tamil Nadu Revenue Officer Association, Thanjavur District.

2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. The petitioner is working as a Record Clerk. He is also a member of the Revenue Officer Association at Thanjavur. The District Administrator Election of the Tamil Nadu Revenue Officer Association, Thanjavur District was announced on 15.11.2024. As per the notification, the petitioner submitted a nomination to contest the election for the post of District Secretary. 2/5

However, on 22.11.2024 the nomination of the petitioner was rejected on the ground that the application was not properly filled up.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the application was not rejected in accordance with law. There is absolutely no reason stated for the rejection of the nomination application of the petitioner.

6. Mr.M.Senthil Ayyanar, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has produced the records before this Court. It revealed that the nomination of the petitioner was introduced by one K.Anandakumar and his voter list Serial number was mentioned as 357, but on the verification, the serial No.357 of the voters list of the Revenue Officers of Thanjavur District is one Pothumani, the Senior Revenue Inspector. Further, the second introducer was mentioned as Ramkumar and he mentioned the voter list serial number as 359. On verification of the voter list, serial no.359 is one C.Balasubramanian working as Deputy Tahsildar.

7. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a nomination with wrong particulars. Hence, the nomination of the petitioner was rightly rejected by the second respondent and this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order 3/5

passed by the second respondent and this writ petition is devoid of merits and it is liable to be dismissed.
