Salary, Surrender Leave Salary and all other retirement benefits from the date of retirement to the actual date of payment of retirement benefits to the petitioner and pay the same to the petitioner. 1/4

O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of petitioner's terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner was appointed in the respondent Transport Corporation and he had attained superannuation on 28.02.2023. The terminal benefits were disbursed belatedly to the writ petitioner only on 31.10.2024. Hence, he sent a representation on 12.11.2024, seeking interest for the belated payment. Since, there is no response from the respondents authorities, the present writ petition has been filed.

Considering the above said facts, the respondent Transport Corporation is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a receipt of a copy of this order. 4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
