PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to include the name of the petitioners in the victim list and consequently directing him to recover the money of Rs.31,00,000/- based on the application of the petitioners dated 09.11.2024. ORDER

The petitioners in these writ petitions are the victims of the fraud played by Neomax Private Limited and its group of companies. The petitioners invested huge sum of amount in that company, but the company had purchased the properties in its name and its Directors and also in the name of its benami. On coming to know about the fraud played by the company, the petitioners made an application on 09.11.2024 to include the petitioners in the victim's list. However, the same was not considered. Hence, the petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking to include them in the victim's list and seeking to recover the money from the company.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submits that the application of the petitioners was received and appropriate steps will be taken soon to safeguard the interest of the depositors.

3.In view of the above submission, this Court directs the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Madurai to take appropriate steps on the application submitted by the petitioners in this 2/4

writ petition preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Additional Director General of Police, Economic Offence, Chennai Wing is directed to monitor the progress of the case and the steps that are taken by the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police.

4.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
