PRAYER:- Petition - filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of the Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondent for committing the contempt of Court by violating the order dated 26.02.2018 passed in W.A.(MD)No. 688 of 2010.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by DR.ANITA SUMANTH, J.) A report of compliance dated 03.08.2023 and an additional report of compliance dated 16.08.2023 are placed on record. They are to the effect that the direction, to remit costs given on 19.07.2023 has been duly complied with, albeit belatedly, and praying that the delay be condoned, as costs have been remitted. We accede to the request.

2. As regards the direction under order dated 26.02.2018, as against which the present contempt petition has been filed, Mr.V.R.Venkatesan, learned counsel, who appears for the contempt petitioner states that the amounts have been settled in full, though he would state that the petitioner is entitled for interest on account of belated settlement of the same.

3. With the settlement of the amounts due to the petitioner as directed under order dated 26.02.2018, nothing survives in this contempt 2/4

petition. Recording the acquiescence of the learned counsel for the petitioner on this aspect, this Contempt Petition is closed.

4. If at all the petitioner believes that he is entitled to interest for belated settlement of dues, he may make a claim in that regard within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If such claim is received, let the Bank decide the same in accordance with law and as per prevailing Rules and Regulations.
