Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to forbear the respondents from taking possession of the land belonging to the petitioner College situate at S.Nos. 1, 10 and 14 to 16, B.B.Kulam, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai more than the land to an extent of 742 Sq. ORDER
Heard the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General assisted by learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
2. The fourth respondent had issued notification under Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 for acquiring 742 sq.meters of land belonging to the 2/4
petitioner college. The petitioner's apprehension is that the respondents may take more land than what has been notified.
3. When the case was taken up for admission, the learned Additional Advocate General clarified that the respondents propose to take only 742 sq.meters of land from the petitioner college under the present notification and that in any event, the respondents will adhere to due process of law.
