ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the second respondent to reopen the Arulmigu Mahamariamman Temple in Survey No.270/1, Chinnaselampatti Village, Vadakkuveli, Thuraiyur Taluk, Trichy District by considering his representation dated 13.09.2025. 2.Though the prayer in the writ petition is innocuously worded, the representation seeks resolution of a dispute between the petitioner and the respondents 3 to 6 as regards who should perform pooja in that temple.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced the communication sent by the second respondent, stating that initially, the 2/4

petitioner had locked the temple and thereafter, the respondents 3 to 7 have fixed another lock and that since there is a dispute as to who should administer the temple, the respondents are unable to interfere in the said dispute.

4.This Court is of the view that the respondent police have rightly refused to interfere in such a dispute. If the petitioner claims right to conduct the festival and perform the pooja in the temple, he has to establish the said right before the Civil Court. Hence, this Court is not inclined to issue any direction prayed for.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
