ORDER
This is a petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the Respondent for violation of the order, dated 03.03.2020 passed by the Writ Court in W.P.(MD)No.4507 of 2020. 2.Heard Mr.T.Venkatesan, learned counsel, for Mr.D.Balamurugapandi, appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.F.Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent. Therefore, no further notice is required to be issued to the Respondent.
3. The Contempt Petition has been filed for non compliance of the judgment and order passed by the Writ Court in W.P.(MD)No.4507 of 2020 dated 03.03.2020 and the learned Single Judge of this Court disposed of the said Writ Petition in the following terms: 2/6
"5. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.03.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. "

Today, when the matter is being taken up, Mr.F.Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader for the Respondent, produced an order dated 12.12.2024, passed by the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District / Respondent and submits that the Respondent has complied with the order of the Writ Court dated 03.03.2020 passed in W.P.(MD)No.4507 of 2020 of 2021. A copy of the said order has been taken on record and the same has already been furnished to the learned counsel for the Petitioner. Therefore, he prays that the Respondent may be discharged from the contempt proceedings.

Mr.T.Venkatesan, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that he he has received a copy of the order dated 12.12.2024, wherein the Respondent has decided the Petitioner's claim, albeit rejecting it. He further submits that if the Petitioner is aggrieved by the said order, he may be permitted to challenge it before the competent Court of law. The learned counsel states that he has no objection to the Respondent being discharged from the contempt proceedings.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the Respondent, and upon perusal of the order dated 12.12.2024 passed by the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District / Respondent, this Court is satisfied that the Respondent has fully complied with the judgment and order of the Writ Court dated 03.03.2020 passed in W.P.(MD)No.4507 of 2020 of 2021. In view of the same, this Court deems it appropriate that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the contempt proceedings pending. Therefore, the Respondent is discharged from the contempt proceedings. 4/6
7. In view of the above, the Contempt Petition is disposed of with liberty to the Petitioner to challenge the order dated 12.12.2024 before the competent Court of law, if he is so aggrieved.
