By relying on three sale deeds executed in favour of the petitioner's father and mother in 1965 and 1966, the petitioner asserts that the property was recorded in the pre-UDR documents as the property of the petitioner's parents. The petitioner asserts further that an error was committed during the UDR by wrongly classifying the property as 'Anadinam'. Therefore, after applying to the District Revenue Officer, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of all 2/5
the respondents. On instructions, he states that the matter has been referred by the District Revenue Officer to the Commissioner of Land Administration. Because the petitioner's request would entail reclassification, he also submits that the Commissioner of Land Administration would consider and dispose of the petitioner's request on merits within twelve (12) weeks.
3. Considering the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the first and second respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for reclassification and rectification of the UDR error within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
