O R D E R

By this Writ Petition, the petitioner has requested that UDR error be rectified by removing the allegedly erroneous entry classifying the property as 'Sarkar Poramboku'.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the petitioner has not applied to the District Revenue Officer, who is authorised to consider a request for correction of UDR errors. If such application was to be submitted by the petitioner, he submits that the same would be considered and disposed of on merits within twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt thereof.

3. Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms: (i) The petitioner is directed to submit an application to the District 2/4

Revenue Officer, Tirunelveli, seeking rectification of the UDR error within one (1) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) The District Revenue Officer, Tirunelveli, shall consider and dispose of such application on merits within a period of twelve

(12) weeks from the date of receipt of such application after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner. (iii) No costs.
