ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned charge memo in Memo R.No. 7344120/DA/S1/2024 dated 29.05.2024 and the consequential order in R.No. 7344120/DA/S1/2024 dated 31.05.2024 issued by the first respondent and quash the same as illegal to the extent of continuing the disciplinary proceedings after the retirement and also to direct the respondents to provide the retirement benefits, along with the pension arrears with interest to the petitioner within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the larger relief has been sought for by the petitioner, now, he confines the prayer that it would suffice if the disciplinary proceedings, which is pending with the respondents, is directed to be concluded within a time frame fixed by this Court. 2/4

Considering the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner, as per the procedure contemplated under the applicable Act and Rules, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits.

5. With the above observations and directions, the Writ Petitions stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
