Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to provide Electricity Service Connection and consequently direct the 2nd respondent to provide Toilet facility as well as Drinking Water Connection to the petitioner's residential house bearing Door No.8/108, Gandhi Nagar, Vaiyampatti Village and post, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District based on the petitioner's application dated 30.05.2024 within the time frame that may be stipulated by this Court. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.This writ petition is filed to direct the 3rd respondent to provide Electricity Service Connection and consequently direct the 2nd respondent to provide Toilet facility as well as Drinking Water Connection to the petitioner's residential house bearing Door No.8/108, Gandhi Nagar, 2/5

Vaiyampatti Village and post, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District based on the petitioner's application dated 30.05.2024. 3.Heard the learned counsels on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

4.Without going into the merits of this case, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 30.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.The learned counsel for the 2nd respondent submitted that as far as the petitioner's request for a drinking water connection is concerned in the forthcoming financial year, that is, 2024-25, a final decision will be taken on providing separate tap facilities to the residents of Gandhi Nagar. Whenever a final decision in this regard is taken, the petitioner will be duly provided with drinking water connection.

6.Recording the same, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
