the order passed by the 2nd respondent in his proceedings Nil dated Nil. Surplus teachers list for English subject in so for as inclusion of the petitioner name in serial No.8 is concern and quash the same and direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to continue in the 3rd respondent school. For Petitioner : Mr.V.Panneer Selvam For Respondents : Mr.J.Ashok Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The instant writ petitions have been filed by BT Assistants in the subject of Mathematics, English and Science, working in the third respondent school, challenging the order of deployment to a different school on the ground that the Government after retaining Junior Teachers, seniors are being transferred. 2.The orders impugned in the writ petition are of the year 2023. The impugned deployment orders have been issued based upon the student strength 4/7

as on 01.08.2023, wherein the student strength of the school was 1038. Now records are produced before the Court by the learned Additional Government Pleader to the effect that as on 01.08.2024, the student strength has further come down to 949. Therefore, even as on today, there are 3 surplus teachers in the subject of science, 2 surplus teachers in the subject of Maths and 3 surplus teachers in the subject of English. Therefore, in view of the subsequent reduction in strength of students, nothing survives to be adjudicated in the present writ petition.

3.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. However, in case, if any further vacancies arise in the third respondent school, the petitioners shall be given priority and they should be re-posted to the parent's school. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
