PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to conclude the appeal made by the petitioner dated 12.08.2025 with respect to Joint Patta No.1606 in Old S.No.37/12, New S.No.241/13 situated at Viralimalai Village, Viralimalai Taluk, Pudukkottai District, within time frame. ORDER
After filing an appeal before the second respondent seeking cancellation of the patta issued to the father of the 4th respondent, the present writ petition has been filed seeking expeditious disposal of such appeal. 2.Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 3. He submits that the Revenue Divisional Officer would consider and dispose of the appeal on merits within twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3.Given the nature of relief claimed, it is not necessary to issue notice to the private respondents in this writ petition. Instead, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the other parties to such appeal. This exercise shall be concluded within twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. 23.09.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No RJR 2/3
