The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents 5, 7 and 8 to grant permission and provide necessary police protection for conducting 'Purattasi Pongal Festival' at Arulmighu Ayyanar Temple, Paraipatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, scheduled to be held on 28.09.2025, by considering the petitioner's representation on 01.09.2025. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, would submit that the permission sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted, since there are rival claimants and that two FIRs have been registered one against the petitioner's group and the other against the group of rival claimants.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner, however, disputes the said facts.

4.It is seen that the respondent police have not still communicated the result of the enquiry conducted sofar. Hence, the respondent police shall 3/6

communicate the decision taken on the petitioner's representation dated 01.09.2025 to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today. 5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
