Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% per annum, for the period of delay 01.06.2022 to 30.05.2023 in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits, namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of leave within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a Selection Grade Senior Driver of the respondent Corporation who attained superannuation on 31.05.2022.

2. According to the writ petitioner, his terminal benefits were released only on 30.05.2023. Hence, he has made a representation on 20.08.2023 seeking interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. In view of the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% from the due date till 29.05.2023 within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
