ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A3, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent 1/3

police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1-A), 4(1)(a), 4(1)(i) and 24A of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.226 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that when the respondent police conducted regular vehicle check up, they intercepted the accused persons and found that the accused persons were in illegal possession and involved in illegal sales of 300 liquor bottles. Hence the case.

3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and a false case has been foisted against him. Hence he seeks anticipatory to the petitioner.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that when the respondent police conducted regular vehicle check up, they intercepted the accused persons and found that the accused persons were in illegal possession and involved in illegal sales of 300 liquor bottles. He also submitted that the petitioner has two previous cases of similar nature and hence he objected to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5.Considering the nature of allegations levelled as against the petitioner and considering the previous bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
