ORDER

The petitioner, a Tahsildar working in Theni District, has filed an appeal on 13.12.2023 before the first respondent as against the orders of the third respondent / District Revenue Officer dated 26.10.2023 fixing his seniority in the cadre of Revenue Inspector. With a grievance that his appeal has not been taken up for hearing, the petitioner has approached this Court for early disposal of the appeal.

2.Though the learned Government Pleader has raised a preliminary objection that there is no proof for the filing of appeal as on 13.12.2023, has satisfied after the production of the postal receipt for the appeal preferred by the petitioner.

3.This Court considered the rival submissions made on either side and perused the materials placed on record.

4.The only grievance raised by the petitioner is that the appeal preferred by him before the first respondent has not been taken up for hearing for the past one year.

5.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this writ petition stands disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the appeal preferred by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Index :
