PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant the petitioner with adequate compensation for the purpose of utilizing the petitioner's land bearing Plot No.644 in S.Nos.149/2A1 and 149/3A situated in Ayyanadaippu 1/4
Village, Thoothukudi Taluk, Thoothukudi District measuring to an extent of 4.96 cents for laying pipeline to transport natural gas by considering the representation given by the petitioner dated 16.06.2025 within a time period as may be stipulated by this court.

ORDER
By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks adequate compensation for the utilisation of land bearing plot No.644 in S.Nos.149/2A1 and 149/3A. 2.Learned standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. On instructions, he states that the petitioner's land was acquired in compliance with statutory requirements. The award in relation thereto was issued and such lands have also been utilised for purposes of laying the pipeline. As regards the petitioner's representation, he further submits that it has been referred by the competent authority to the General Manager and the Deputy General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. He further submits that the Deputy General Manager would consider and pass orders on the petitioner's request for compensation within eight weeks. 2/4
3.Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Deputy General Manager of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited to pass orders on the petitioner's request for compensation within eight weeks from the date of receipt for copy of this order. It is open to the petitioner to provide any additional documents in this connection. No costs.
