ORDER

The petitioners seek to quash the final report filed for the offences under Sections 306 and 498 (A) I.P.C.

2. The gist of the allegation is that the first petitioner was the husband of the victim, who was the daughter of the defacto complainant; that on account of matrimonial difference, the victim went to the house of the defacto complainant and committed suicide.

3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent / defacto complainant are relatives and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 22.10.2025 2/5

4. The petitioners and the second respondent / defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. The defacto complainant would confirm that neither he nor his wife intend to pursue the case and therefore, the proceedings may be quashed. They are identified by Ms.C.Hemalatha, WHC-546, AWPS -Cantonment, Trichy. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them. 5.Considering the nature of the allegations and the fact that the defacto complainant himself is not inclined to pursue the case and the victim died in the house of the defacto complainant, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 22.10.

2025 shall form part of the order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. The petitioners shall jointly pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) as costs to the credit of the "District Siddha Medical Officer, CCRI, Periyakulam" (Account No.
