PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 not to give first respect (Mudhal Mariyadhai) in a discriminatory manner to any individuals on the Maha Sivarathiri Festival of the Sri gangaiamman Temple, Vepillaipatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District and further to direct the respondents No.5 to provide adequate police protection for conducting Sri Gangaiamman Temple Maha Sivarathiri Festival Scheduled to be conducted in the month of February 2025 considering the representation of the petitioner dated 14.10.2024. This writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents 1 to 4 not to give first respect indiscriminating manner to any individual on the event of Celebration Maha Sivarathiri Festival of the Sri Gangaiamman Temple, Vepillaipatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District to be conducted in the month of February 2025.
2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
4. It is seen that there is a private dispute between the petitioner and the third parties in respect of first honour during the Maha Sivarathiri Festival of the Sri Gangaiamman Temple, Vepillaipatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, therefore, the respondents are nothing to do with the private dispute between the petitioner and the third party.
5. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits and it is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
