Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to correct the petitioner's son name as "tpf;Nd];tud;" instead of "tpf;fpNd];tud;" and correct mother's name as "kzpNkfiy" instead of "kzp" in the birth certificate issue in Registration No.5294/2014/GH, dated 30.05.2014 based on the petitioner's representation on 20.11.2024 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

This writ petition has been for a direction directing the respondents 1 & 2 to correct the petitioner's son name as "Vigneshwaran" instead of "Vikkineshwaran;" and correct mother's name as " Manimegalai" instead of "Mani" in the birth certificate issued by the second respondent.
2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.
4. The petitioner got married one Ramesh and gave birth two children namely Mutheeswaran and Vigneshwaran. The second son is studying 6th standard and he was born in Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai on 29.05.2014. On the registration of his birth, he was issued birth certificate in the name of Vikkineshwaran. Originally, he was named as Vigneshwaran as 2/5
per the other records. That apart, the petitioner name also mentioned as Mani in the birth certificate instead of Manimegalai. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation, however, it is pending without consideration.
5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 would submit that the petitioner submitted mere representation without any form of proper application, that too, without payment of any fees.

In the view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh application to the second respondent with necessary fees to correct the petitioner's name as Manimegalai as well as the petitioner's son name as Vigneshwaran within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the second respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders within a period of four weeks thereafter conducting an enquiry and by giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
