ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1962 r/w 7(1) 1/3

(a)(ii) of EC Act, 1955 in Crime No.234 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the vehicle, which was driven by A2 was intercepted by the respondent Police and it was found that 1050 kgs of PDS rice was transported illegally. The petitioner is arrayed as A1, he is the owner of the vehicle and also PDS rice.

3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that there are five previous cases similar in nature are pending against the petitioner. 5.Considering the quantity of PDS rice involved and previous cases pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
