ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta for the property 1/5

comprised in Sur.Nos.914/6, 918/1C, 918/D, 933/1, 938/4, 677/5A, 672/8, 723/1A and 719/1 in S.Tharaikudi Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District on the basis of the online application dated 13.07.2024 within a stipulated time period in accordance with law.

The petitioner's principal purchased the land in S.Nos. 914/6, 918/1C, 918/D, 933/1, 918/1B, 938/4, 677/5A, 672/8, 723/1A and 719/1 in S.Tharaikudi Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, under sale deeds dated 4.10.2005, 06.12.2005, 20.12.2005 and 25.04.2007. As the revenue records were not mutated in favour of the petitioner's principal, he filed an application on 13.07.2024 for grant of patta. No action was taken on the petitioner's application and therefore, he sent a representation dated 29.07.2024, to the second respondent. Even thereafter no action was taken and therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 07.08.2024 to the second respondent to process the application dated 13.07.2024. As no action was 2/5

taken, the petitioner filed the above Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

3.It is seen that the petitioner's application is kept pending since 13.07.2024 without any progress. I am therefore inclined to issue a direction. Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 13.07.2024, and pass orders on merits, in accordance with law and in consonance with Section 10 of the Patta Passbook Act within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
