O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by the father of one Murugan, who passed away in an industrial accident seeking a Mandamus for disbursal of the award amount.

2.The petitioner's son, namely, Murugan, who was working as a Tanker Lorry Driver, had died in the course of employment on 11.08.2014. The petitioner and his wife, Chandra had filed W.C.No.06 of 2015 before the Deputy Commissioner of Labour/Employee Compensation Commissioner, Tirunelveli, seeking compensation. An award was passed on 08.07.2017 directing the employer and the Insurance Company to deposit a sum of Rs.8,73,880/- along with 12% interest. Pursuant to the award amount, the insurance company had deposited the said amount on 11.08.2017.

3.The petitioner herein had addressed a communication to the respondent herein on 04.07.2023 enclosing the legal heirship certificate for disbursal of the said amount. Even thereafter, the respondent has not passed any order disbursing the award amount. 2/4

4.Considering the above said facts, the respondent is directed to pass orders disbursing the award amount to the Writ Petitioner based upon the legal heirship certificate submitted by them within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Writ Petition is disposed of.

No costs.
