ORDER

The petitioner, with a grievance that the 3rd respondent, who was appointed as a Fit Person of Sri Vadakkuvaselvi Amman Thirukovil, Alagesapuram, Tuticorin, in the year 2014, has not taken charge and has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to take charge of the Temple and to take appropriate steps to conduct Kumbabishegam of the Temple by considering his representation dated 24.11.2023.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on written instructions, submits that the 3rd respondent, who was appointed as a Fit Person of Sri Vadakkuvaselvi Amman Thirukovil, is also managing and administering several temples and therefore, he was not in a position to take charge of this temple and on the instruction of the Assistant Commissioner, HR&CE Department, it is represented that the 3rd respondent has now taken charge as Fit Person of the Temple on 04.12.2023.

3. Recording the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of with a further direction to the 3rd respondent to take appropriate steps to conduct Kumbabishegam, if it is not conducted, within a stipulated time. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
