Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

2. Issuance of notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

3. The petitioner wants this Court to direct the official respondents to remove the encroachments made in the petition-mentioned survey number. The learned Special Government Pleader confirms that survey (*)No.298/12 in Andakulam Revenue Village is very much a water body.

4. We direct the second respondent to take effective action so that the encroachments are cleared. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondents shall 2/4
