O R D E R

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct the Silambam Tournament in the name of Silambam National League at Kani Mahal, Pandaaravilai, Thoothukudi District from 9.00 am., to 10.00 p.m., on 02.12.2023 or any other date within the stipulated by this Court.

2. Mr.M.Sakthi Kumar, learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) takes notice for the respondents.

3.Heard both sides.

The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that the petitioner has given a representation to the respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct the Silambam Tournament in the name of Silambam National League at Kani Mahal, Pandaaravilai, Thoothukudi District from 9.00 am., to 10.00 p.m., on 02.12.2023. So far it was not considered by them. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with this petition.

5.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) would submit that the second respondent is ready to grant permission for conducting the above said event.

6.In view of the submissions made on either side, the petitioner is directed to file undertaking affidavit before the second respondent to the effect that they will conduct the above said event in peaceful manner and on receipt of such undertaking, the second respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the writ petitioner dated 24.11.2023 and pass orders imposing necessary conditions, which are reasonable, depending upon the ground situation, in the light of the circular of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019.

7.With the above said directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
