PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct the first and second respondents to provide Police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his wife from the respondent Nos.3 to 7, on the basis of the petitioner's complaint dated 24.11.2023.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to provide Police protection.

2. Considering the relief sought for between the parties, the matter was referred to the Mediation Centre. The parties appeared before the Mediation Centre and they have resolved their dispute amicably through a settlement agreement dated 19.12.2023.

3. The relevant terms of the settlement agreement dated 19.12.2023 is extracted hereunder:

"6.The following settlement has been arrived between the parties hereto:

Both parties agreed to the following terms.

a) The petitioner and his wife agreed to receive Rs. 9000/- per mensum.

b) The petitioner and his wife agreed to remain in the house were they reside by way of othi.

c) The petitioner and his wife said amount of Rs. 9000/- must be paid into the Account of S. Shanthi A/c No. 201028869, IFSC: TNSC0010600, in Madurai District Central Cooperative Bank ltd, Alanganallur (10601) before 5th of every English month.

d) The petitioner and his wife further if the said arrangements are abided by the respondents the petitioner must not raise the dispute particularly before the RDO. e) The petitioner and his wife if any of the parties both petitioner and respondents would not adhere to the said arrangement the respective party can seek relief as per provisions of law.

f) The petitioner and his wife further the other passed by the RDO passed by the RDO as sum of Rs. 1000/- for maintenance is inclusive in the above agreed amount. g) The petitioner and his wife will not seek for any maintenance more than the agreed amount in future

7. By signing this Agreement the Parties hereto state that they have no further claims or demands against each other with respect to Crl.O.P. (MD) No.21741 of 2023 and all disputes and differences in this regard have been amicably settled by the parties hereto through the process of Mediation." 3/5

4. The mediation report has been submitted before this Court by recording the statement between the parties.
