ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.422 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent, which was registered for the offences under Section 296(b), 323 and 506(2) of IPC.
2. The allegation in the FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioner had abused the victim in filthy language and also assaulted him besides committing the offence of criminal intimidation.
3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the respondents 2 and 3 belong to the same Village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 21st July 2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

The petitioner, namely, Kalil Rahman @ Kaleel Rahman (Aadhaar No.6507 8975 2766), the defacto complainant, namely, Ajimal Khan (Aadhaar No.4134 2995 2348) and the victim, namely, Kalil Rahman (Aadhaar No.2825 3032 1816) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.V.Krishnan, Sub Inspector of Police, Mimisal Police Station, Pudukkottai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.
5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.422 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry.
