ORDER

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.This writ petition is filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to restore the drinking water connection which was provided to the petitioner based on the payment made by him on 07.07.2022 through Payment Challan No. 122/22-23.

3.Heard the learned counsels on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

4.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate, submitted that, in view of the pending suit in O.S.No.90 of 2004, it is not possible to restore the drinking water connection provided to the petitioner which was earlier disconnected.

5.However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the suit in O.S.No.90 of 2004 on the file of District Munsif Court, Vedasanthur, has been dismissed for default on 16.08.2024. 2/4

6.In view of the same, the 2nd respondent hereby is directed to restore the petitioner's water connection based on the payment made by him on 07.07.2022 within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
