The petitioners/A2, A4 & A5 in Spl.SC.No.82 of 2017, on the file of the III Additional District and Sessions Court (PCR), Madurai was found guilty by the trial Court and was convicted and sentenced as under:- Sl.No Sections Punishment Fine amount Default 147 IPC Six months Rigorous imprisonment each Rs.250/- each 7 days simple imprisonment 1.

As against the conviction and sentence imposed by the trial Court in Spl.SC.No.82 of 2017, dated 18.04.2018, the petitioners along with other accused have filed a Criminal Appeal in Crl.A(MD) No.282 of 2024. The petitioners have also moved this application to suspend the 2/6

sentence imposed on them by the trial Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners. 3.The petitioners have raised certain arguable points, which can be considered only during the final hearing of the appeal. However the appeal could not be taken up immediately. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioners with certain conditions.

4. Accordingly, the substantive sentence of imprisonment alone is suspended pending disposal of the criminal appeal and the petitioners are ordered to be enlarged on bail on the following conditions:- i. The petitioners shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand) each with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the III Additional District and Sessions Court (PCR), Madurai.

ii. The petitioner shall report before the respondent police on the first working day of every month until further orders. iii.In the event, if the petitioners are changing their address, the same shall be duly intimated to the respondent police without fail.

iv. The petitioners shall not disturb the defacto complainant at any cost.

v. In the event, if the petitioners have violated any of the above conditions, it is open to the respondent police to file an application to cancel the bail granted to them. 02.03.2026 Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No vrn 4/6
