PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse the petitioner's Voluntarily retirement Scheme Compensation amount of Rs.37,500/- for the remaining service of 2.5years at the time of petitioner's retirement, along with 6% interest, in view of this Court orders and the petitioner's representation dated 21.09.2024. 1/4

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by an Assistant Engineer of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a mandamus for disbursement of Voluntarily Retirement Scheme Compensation amount along with 6% interest.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner has Voluntarily Retired from service on 31.05.2022. However, Voluntary Retirement Scheme Compensation amount of Rs.37,500/- was not paid to him. Seeking the said benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation to the authorities on 21.09.2024. Since, the same was not considered by the respondent authorities. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Considering the above said facts, the respondents are directed to disburse eligible Voluntary Retirement Scheme Compensation amount to the writ petitioner along with 6% interest from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
